File No: 09-07-018 | | Location: Wapwallopen, PA - Luzerne
County |
Location
Status:
This
is a two story residence built in the 1800's occupied by two adults
and two children. This was a supplemental investigation by ThePPA at
this location. The residence was once owned by Dr. Frederick Santee,
a local medical doctor who, in the 1920's, was the youngest person
ever to attend Harvard University, starting at age 13 and graduating
at the age of 17 years old. He went on to obtain two PHD's and his
MD. This particular residence was used to house the nurses who worked
for him across the street at his main home and built in doctor's
office. The nurses were also believed to be part of his coven as Dr.
Santee was believed to be a satanic priest by some and a witch by
others. Local information indicates that Dr. Santee held occult
ceremonies in this house with his coven. Further research leads us to
believe that Dr. Santee may have practiced Wicanism rather than
satanism as well as Alchemy and any rituals that took place there
would then not have been of a negative or dark nature if that was the
case.
Reported
Activity:
The
initial claims were of current and past residents along with visitors
reporting voices, seeing shadows and black mass like figures. Objects
moving by themselves have been witnessed and a man has been seen
standing at the top of a staircase looking out a window. Two young
children, a boy and a girl have been seen walking past a doorway. The
family dog would begin to bark aggressively with its hair standing on
end for no apparent reason and one of the children reported seeing a
man with mean looking eyes standing in a hallway. Since our first
visit, the homeowners have reported seeing more moving shadows, one
causing the family cat to hiss, growl and run away with it's hair on
end and
a small chandelier light shade also reportedly popped off one
of the lights by itself, landing on the floor.

Conclusion:
During the investigation
on this particular date, investigators were able to rule out the
chandelier light shade popping off by itself as a natural occurrence
caused by the tension of the shade attachment and the shape of the
bulb. The light shade can pop off by itself with some vibration and
investigators were able to reproduce this event. Over time, footsteps
from the 2nd
floor above the light or vibrations from active, nearby railroad
tracks could cause the light shades to move slightly and the
remaining tension to cause the shade to pop off.
Investigators also placed
the clients digital camera that had turned on by itself on the
initial investigation in the view of one of the DVR cameras. The
camera did not turn on by itself during this investigation nor could
the event be duplicated and remains unusual.
No other audio or video
evidence was documented on this date and no personal experiences were
noted. ThePPA will continue to
work with this family in order to document continuing activity. Back to "Case Files"
