Reported
Activity:
When
the family moved into this home over ten years ago, they began
noticing activity almost immediately. The activity centered around
the 2nd floor bedrooms and attic areas with reports of footsteps, hearing a
child's voice, seeing shadows and blackish figures and the sound of
someone walking up and down the stairs with no one present. In other
areas, it has appeared as if someone has walked past a doorway or a
grayish smoke-like movement was seen. A little girl of only three or
four years old was seen in the kitchen and on another occasion, a
kitchen light turned off by itself. The activity appears to go on for
a week or so and then is quiet for about three weeks then starts
again.

Investigator
Feelings / Experiences:
Mark and Chris - within
minutes of entering the 3rd
Fl bedroom at the start of the investigation, Mark and Chris began
hearing noises in the ceiling. After spending some considerable time
in this area and hearing many more loud noises, it is believed that
an animal such as a squirrel or large bird is inhabiting this area.
It could not be determined where the animal was entering the house
but the animal itself was heard in almost every area of the ceiling
on the 3rd
floor at some point.
Lauren - Nothing
to report
Conclusion:
During
the investigation on this particular night, investigators found what
appears to be a small animal or bird habitating in the ceiling of the
3rd
floor. Many sounds were heard from this animal throughout the night
which could account for a few of the noises heard by the family, but
not most. Attempts were made to recreate staircase popping with no
success. The cause of the sounds of footsteps on the staircase and 2nd
floor master bedroom is still unknown.
Initial
EMF sweeps of the residence indicated there were no fields above the
normal range that could falsely cause the family to have experiences
that would seem paranormal. Even though some factors that could
falsely cause a person to have what is believed to be a paranormal
experience were ruled out, no evidence of paranormal activity or a
haunting was recorded on this date. The activity the family described
seems to fit the type of activity that would occur with a haunting
and in no way does ThePPA discredit their accounts. Based on the
family relating that the activity seems to be active for a week or so
and then is quiet for about three weeks until it starts again, it is
recommend that the family start a log of activity in an attempt to
identify when the activity may be occurring and follow up with an
additional investigation around those times. Back to "Case Files" |
