PA Paranormal Association Evidence Review
Location: Readington, NJ

Investigation Date and Duration:
October 18, 2009   Arrive 5:00pm / Depart 11:00pm

Location Status:
This is a two story residence built in the 1800’s with two separate basements occupied by two adults, two of their children, three dogs and two cats. This property also consists of a horse barn, stables and pasture.

Reported Activity:
After the owners moved in 6 years ago they began experiencing activity such as hearing several of their names called, the family dog would get frightened and bark at unseen objects. On one occasion, the dog began barking at the refrigerator and the family took a picture. In the picture, a pinkish heart shaped object appeared. One of the clients reported the feeling of someone placing a hand on his shoulder as he lay in bed. Doors have reportedly opened with force all by themselves in the house and stable area. The client’s youngest daughter has reported seeing an apparition of a young boy in her bedroom and the family reports an overall creepy feeling in the basement game room. One of the client’s main concerns is that many horses at this location have mysteriously died in a relatively short period of time along with the deaths of several ducks and a few cats. Some of the causes of death were uncertain. Air, food, water and other contamination tests were conducted with no lethal cause discovered.

VIDEO:
DVR Camera1 (Viewing lower den) No physical evidence captured on this device at the time of the investigation.

DVR Camera2 (Viewing 2nd floor master bedroom and hallway) No physical evidence captured on this device at the time of the investigation.

DVR Camera3 (Viewing Kitchen) No physical evidence captured on this device at the time of the investigation.

DVR Camera4 (Viewing interior of stables) No physical evidence captured on this device at the time of the investigation.

Camcorder #1 – (Mobile with Team 1) This device captured what sounded like footsteps in the loft above the stables that Lauren and Paulette reported hearing. The noise from the horses make it indistinguishable on audio, however, from the natural noises cause by the horses and the direction the sound can not be established from this audio.

Camcorder #2 – (Mobile with Team 2) No physical evidence captured on this device at the time of the investigation.

Camcorder #3 – (Mobile with Team 2) No physical evidence captured on this device at the time of the investigation.

Photographs:
No photos of evidential value were discovered.

EMF (Electro Magnetic Field):
- Normal baseline readings were measured in most areas of the building with expected spikes near electrical equipment.
- Extremely high EMF’S were measured in the basement game room near the water treatment system coming from a 12 amp power supply plugged into an electrical outlet. EMF readings exceeded 2300 milligaus in this area and certainly would cause a person to experience “creepy feelings” in this area.

EMF levels exceeding 2300 milligaus were measured in this area.

Orbs in this photo are caused by hay dust in the stables

Investigator Feelings / Experiences:
Mark – While taking a tour with one of the clients, the claim that the barn entry door sometimes slams shut was being explained by the client and just as she had finished explaining the activity, the door slammed shut with the client exclaiming, “Just like that!” There was wind blowing at the time which is believed to be the cause on this occasion but the client reports having it occur on days when there is absolutely no wind as well.
Lauren and Paulette – While in the stables, Lauren and Paulette heard what sounded like footsteps coming from the loft area above them on three separate occasions. Just after this experience, Lauren and Paulette both witnessed a bright ball of light flash in the back left corner of the stables in front of one of the stable doors. This particular stable was occupied by one of the horses. Several attempts to recreate the light were conducted with no success. Outside sources were ruled out and it is unknown at this time what the cause was.
Bob and Chris - While in the loft area of the stables, Chris had set up his camcorder on a tripod, turned it on and started to record. After he and Bobby had walked away, Chris looked back at his recorder and it had shut off by itself. The battery was fully charged and the recorder has never done this before. A short time later, Chris had Bobby record him setting up his camcorder on the tripod in the basement game room area and Chris commented on each step including when he pressed the record button. A short time later, Chris’ camera had turned itself off again. No known cause could be found for the malfunction of the camera. It was later tested and has not done it since.
Chris and Bobby were conducting a final sweep of the exterior of the residence near the end of the night and a woman looking out the 2nd floor master bedroom caught their attention. They radioed to the team inside and no one was on the second floor. No one other than the team was in the house at the time. Lauren went to that location to look out the window as a comparison test and both Chris and Bobby reported that it looked exactly like what they had seen.

Conclusion:
During the investigation on this date, investigators had a few personal experiences that could not be explained. The sound of footsteps in the stables along with a flash of light and an unexplained camera malfunction were noted. Additionally, two investigators believed they saw a woman looking out the second floor bedroom window. Although these experiences indicate that some activity may be occurring and validate some of the claims reported by the clients, it can not be determined at this time if an actual haunting is taking place. Furthermore, there is no evidence that anything paranormal is killing the animals and it is a possibility that the ducks in the pond are being killed by snapping turtles that are also present. Animals are thought to be sensitive to paranormal activity, however, and it is also a possibility that the dog and even the horses may be sensing something if it is present and becoming stressed even if the presence is benign or even friendly. Sensing the presence alone may be enough to startle the animals. At this time, however, no evidence was recorded to conclude any living spirit is present.

It is strongly believed that the creepy feelings being reported in the basement are being caused by very high EMF levels which can also cause the sensation that you are being watched or that you are not alone.
With some unexplained experiences occurring, the reports from the family and information separately gained from a psychic medium who was called in apart from the physical investigation, THE PPA believes there is enough cause to warrant further examination of this location to determine if a haunting is taking place or if the activity may just be the result of something “paranormal” that we currently are not aware of.
