Investigation
Date and Duration: September
25, 2010 6pm – 3am
Location
Status: This
is a two story farm house with a full attic and basement built in the
1800's occupied by two adults, one toddler, the family dog and a
rabbit. The home sits at the base of a mountain where coal and iron
ore mines were in operation in the 1800’s, some within just a few
feet from the home.
Reported
Activity: The
clients reported living in this home for about three months. During
that time, they had started renovations of several rooms. The
clients began seeing shadows around the house, feeling breezes and
cold spots in sealed rooms, hearing footsteps on the second floor in
the hallway and toddler's room and related that their daughter is
very unsettled in their new home and no longer sleeps well. The
family dog acts very out of the ordinary at times and appears to
react to something that they cannot see. The clients related that
everyone who enters the home feels something is wrong there. The
clients also believe that they have found a large unmarked cemetery
in the woods behind their home and feel like they are being watched
and are afraid to go outside at night.

EMF
(Electro Magnetic Field): Standard
baseline readings were taken throughout the residence with expected
spikes near electrical appliances. Elevated readings were measured
in the basement along the main support beam coming from old wiring.
These elevated levels can be the cause of some of the weird feelings
in the basement such as the feeling that one was being watched. No
anomalous readings were detected.
Investigator
Feelings / Personal Experiences: No
notable experiences reported.
Metaphysical
Impressions: Virginia,
The PPA Psychic Medium, felt that there was a lot of activity on the
left side of the home. She believed that people had been buried
on the mountain
above the home and to the left as well. These people would have
been previous property owners who once lived and worked in the mines on
the mountain. Virginia felt energy is
coming down to the home from the mines and something very secret went
on in the mines, such as hiding slaves or something with the Army in
the 1800's. Virginia believes people were hurt or killed working in
the mines. Some names that Virginia picked up were Pitts or Potts,
Lovelace - something to do with a school, Williams or William who was
connected with the mines, Thomas - a slave that was going to Canada
but stayed. Virginia felt strongly that there were many slaves on
the property. Virginia also picked up on the names Smith or Schmidt,
David - was an uncle to a man named Jeremiah, one of the past
property owners and a French name of Cereole. Virginia also picked
up on the client's cousin, Tina, who was killed by a train but not
stuck at this home, just in and out. Virginia felt a lot of family
moves in and out but again, were not stuck in any way. Virginia felt
that the property had something to do with Free Masons and another
secret society. Virginia also sensed a young girl who drowned in the
middle 1800's about 9 to 11 years of age. Virginia felt very
strongly that there was nothing negative in the home or anything that
was physically harmful. Virginia believes that there is residual
energies that come down from the mountain behind the house along
with miners coming up and down.
Conclusion: During
the course of the investigation on this particular date,
investigators had a no personal experiences to report and no physical
evidence was documented to definitively determine a haunting was
taking place. Investigators did find some rodent habitation in the
basement along with elevated magnetic fields around the support beam
running across the center of the room. This field was created from
old electrical wiring. Some possible explanations for the family
dog’s sometimes odd behavior could be caused from sensing rodents
in the basement at times. Knocks and bangs heard in the basement
could also be caused by rodents. Creepy feelings or the feeling that
one is being watched in the basement can be caused by the increased
magnetic field present there. Although these are just a few
alternative explanations for certain feelings or experiences in the
basement, they do not rule out a majority of the activity the clients
have reported and no “normal” causes could be found for the
remaining activity.
Based
on the clients concerns and fears of living at this location with
activity, The PPA asked resident psychic medium Virginia Centrillo to
try and clear the home as much as possible to reduce or stop the
activity. Virginia believes that she was able to clear a male and
female energy that was attached to the home but other spirits were
not stuck and only sporadically present in the home. Virginia
related that because of the history of the minors and their families
who worked and lived all around this home and the many souls she felt
on the mountain on which the home sits at the base of, the home may
always be at risk to have some activity. Virginia will provide
additional information to the family on how to keep the energy up in
the home to reduce the amount of activity that may occur there and
The PPA will continue to monitor the location for any change in
activity. |
