Feelings / Personal Experiences: Lauren - In the great room, Lauren felt a chill down her back while sitting on the couch, and reported that it felt like there was someone behind her. When Lauren mentioned this to Nicole and Bobby, Bobby said he thought he saw a shadow pass behind her in the mirror that was in front of them. Lauren got up and moved to the other side of the room, where she noticed that the room temp had dropped 3 degrees since she sat down. At the same time, Bobby and Nicole indicated that they felt a cold breeze go by them.
Nicole
- When
Lauren, Bobby, and Nicole were investigating the great room, Nicole
saw a shadow pass in front of one of the windows facing the view
outside. A bit later while Nicole was sitting on the couch in the
same room, she felt a distinct cooler draft of air pass over her head
from left to right. Without mentioning it, Bobby, who was sitting on
Nicole's right, stated he just felt a cold breeze on his left side
confirming what Nicole had just experienced. During the cleansing in
room 12, Nicole was present in the room filming the cleansing. When
Mark mentioned that he felt like he was near a fire, Nicole also
noted that
her ears felt very hot.
Bobby - Refer to Lauren and Nicole's experiences above. Al - While walking in the upstairs hallway near room 11, Al heard what distinctly sounded like a voice come from room 11. Upon further investigation, no cause could be found. Shortly after, Al was following K9 Ben down the hall from the area of room 11 to the main staircase and reported a feeling like someone was walking with him. Hawk - While in the kitchen area of the great room immediately after Al came and sat down next to Hawk at one of the tables, Hawk got very cold, describing it as an immediate cold chill down to his bone. Al then commented on feeling the same thing. This lasted for several minutes, however, even though they felt cold, Paul's thermometer did not show any temperature change at all. Once Hawk remarked that he was feeling warm again, K9 Ben started to stare at the ceiling then began aggressively barking. Ben went from barking at the ceiling to barking at what initially looked to be Paul but actually appeared as though Ben was looking around Paul. Ben then turned towards Al and did the same, turned back towards Paul then focused on the floor area right in front of Paul and Hawk and the table they were stationed at. This "reaction" happened two different times and both times were totally unprovoked by any of the investigators and out of character for Ben. During this time, Hawk also reported smelling a scent much like if someone was digging and handing moist fresh dirt. Paul – While Paul was also in the great room with Al and Hawk, he reported feeling cold spots independent of the other two investigators. Although Paul could physically feel the cold spots, no temperature change was indicated on the ambient air thermometer he was using. Virginia – Virginia was sitting in the small dining area on the main floor facing a door that leads into the kitchen and noticed a small, green illuminated digital clock coming though the window of the door. In a split second Virginia observed someone walk right in front of the clock very fast from left to right then right to left completely blocking out the illuminated clock. Mark immediately went into the kitchen and verified no one was there. The cause could not be found.
Psychic
Impressions: During
the initial walk-through and later investigation, PPA Psychic Medium
Virginia Centrillo received impressions of historical events and
figures that were connected to this property including the names
Henry, Joe and Ray who Virginia felt were past owners. Virginia also
picked up on the energy of a woman named Elizabeth who she felt was a
turn of the century teacher that was walking around near the upstairs
guest rooms along with another Beth, Rose, Grace being felt in that
area. Virginia also felt someone with an A name down in the laundry
room area.
Virginia picked up that there was a fire around the year 1965, 66 or 67 and felt the fire was started purposely by a past owner who had help from someone with a T name like Tim or Tom. Virginia also picked up a lot of American Indian energy and felt someone was buried near the building more to the left of the property. Virginia received that this was a big spot where the American Indians stopped before the winter months to gather food. The Indians showed Virginia something to do with brush with thorns on them and called it very sacred land which they repeated to her. Virginia felt that there was an American Indian boy running around the lower levels and also a girl that drowned on the property. Virginia stated she felt the girl drowned in a well a very long time ago. Virginia additionally picked up on a boy in period clothing running around the 2nd floor near the upstairs guest rooms and also believes a hanging on the property occurred around the late to middle 1700's to 1800's. When Virginia walked into room 12, she immediately was approached by a female energy in great distress. She was moving quickly and was very confused and frightened. Virginia picked up the name Ann Marie or Anna Marie with this energy. Virginia felt she was in 20's with blond or dirty blond hair. Virginia was receiving that this female came down from Albany, had a drug problem and died an accidental death of a drug overdose by another person using a needle to administer the drug and fell to the floor in the back left corner of the room. Virginia felt the girl also lost some blood from her arm where the needle went into the wrong spot. There was also something to do with prostitution connected to this female. The girl kept asking Virginia where Chuck and Larry were. Virginia felt this female's body was discarded somewhere after her death do to fear of the Law and her body was never recovered. Virginia also picked up on a male energy in room 12 with a J name, possibly John. This male was very large in size and Virginia felt the female was very threatened by him and both would move between rooms 12 and 14. Virginia felt the male energy was very threatened by our presence especially when he saw the cadaver dogs and their handlers in uniform. Virginia related it felt like he didn't want something to be found out.
Conclusion: Investigators did have numerous personal experiences throughout the investigation including hearing voices, feeling multiple anomalous cold spots, seeing shadows with no known cause, having the feeling like someone was walking or standing with them and our K9 - Ben reacted in a very unusual manner in the great room which is inconsistent with his normal behavior. The amount of personal experiences by investigators were above the normal and validate many of the claims by guests and employees. Rescue International cadaver dog team was brought in on this case to rule out the possibility that the smell coming from room 12 was caused by a cadaver or somehow connected to a dead body or that body's spirit in some way. Being that it was more probable that the cadaver dogs would not alert on anything and a non-cadaver control dog would show interest in what would probably be a dead rodent, the hopes were to dismiss the idea that the smell was connected to a human cadaver and rule out the chance of anything paranormal. In this particular case, what occurred was the control dog did not show any interest in the smell and two cadaver dogs independently alerted on the same back left corner of the room as if a cadaver was there. This is the same spot where Virginia psychically picked up on the overdose death of a girl who may have had some blood loss in this area and died. The PPA was not able to rule out a potential paranormal cause using the cadaver dogs but the dogs seemingly re-enforced the clients belief that someone may have died in that room which could be connected to the activity. Investigators were not able to find a logical connection from the smell in room 12 to anything paranormal or otherwise and can not give a definitive answer to the source of the smell that the clients often report in room 12. Although there is a possibility the smell could be connected to an entity inhabiting this room, we will not know that for sure until some time has passed after the cleansing that Virginia conducted in this area to remove two negative energies that she felt were present. If the smell does not come back or persist, then we can reasonably believe that it may have been associated with something paranormal. Although not able to document any physical audio or video evidence but taking into consideration all the information gathered through the investigation, The PPA believes there is some level of paranormal activity occurring at this location but cannot determine just based on hard evidence alone that a haunting is taking place. At the clients request, a cleansing was done by Virginia to release two energies that she felt were connected to rooms 12 and 14 causing the activity. Virginia believes that she was successfully able to release the spirits in that area. THE PPA will keep in touch with the clients and continue to monitor the Inn to see if the activity has been reduced or stopped altogether. Virginia felt any remaining spirits that were present throughout the building were not stuck or trapped at the Inn and of no harm to anyone. Being that they are on another level than the two spirits Virginia released, they would be much less likely to be observed at this location. |
