two story restaurant and bar built in 1985
Reported
Activity:
The

between 10pm and 1am. Employees have reported seeing apparitions and
strange shadows. The clients have had their restroom paper towels
unwound on several occasions and get the creeps when they go into the
basement. By having an investigation, the clients are hoping to have
proof of paranormal activity and something done to reduce it so the
employees can work in peace.

EMF
(Electro-Magnetic Field):
Standard
baseline readings were taken throughout the building with expected
spikes near electrical appliances. Very high levels were discovered
in the basement coming from electric wiring that run the length of
the basement hallway in the ceiling. High readings were also
measured in the dance room coming from the sound system, the main
host area near the front door, the main dining room interior wall
along the entire wall just behind the host area and in many areas of
the kitchen.

Psychic
Impressions:
When
Virginia arrived at the Tavern, she began picking up American Indian
spirits walking the area and one of the spirits gave Virginia the
name, “Alder Tree”. As Virginia tuned in to the beauty of this
Tavern, she received information on the lake itself from a male
spirit named “Frances Walters”. Frances told Virginia that the
lake was not a natural lake but man made. Frances continued to give
information to Virginia including something to do with a mud tragedy,
but she was not sure if it was about the lake or something else?
Frances gave Virginia dates of 1888, 1900-1905, 1969-1972. Virginia
also picked up many different levels of soldiers in the surrounding
area.
When
Virginia walked into the Tavern she immediately picked up a residual
energy that moved from left to right of the building. Virginia also
picked up a female spirit named “Molly” that moves between the
kitchen, dining room and ladies room. Virginia found Molly to be
very helpful and the clients confirmed this information.
During
the walk-through, Virginia gathered the following information:
Bar
area:
Virginia picked up on a male spirit named “George” who sits at
the end of the bar. Virginia felt he was mischievous, especially
with the ladies. Virginia also picked up that George likes to break
dishes. Virginia also felt that George loved to bother someone named
Ryan. The clients confirmed this was one of their employees. This
spirit gave Virginia a difficult time with his name, first indicating
John and then he said George. Virginia believes his real name is
George.
Lower
Level - Storage Area:
Virginia picked up a male spirit by the freezer name “Louie”. Virginia
perceived Louie as a soldier wearing a red coat. Virginia
felt that Louie made the atmosphere uncomfortable and the clients
confirmed he did. Virginia also picked up residual energy in this
area that moved from left to right along the lower level. Virginia
contributed this to some sort of tragedy that occurred over 200 years
ago and had something to do with burning/ fire and people running.
Lower
Level - Bar area:
Virginia once again felt the male spirit named George in the hallway
near the bar. Virginia related that this is where he loves to bother
the ladies the most, is the most comfortable and makes himself really
known.
Lower
Level - behind the bar:
Virginia picked up on a young female spirit who was badly hurt and
looked like she had been burned from a fire.
Lower
Level - near stairs:
Virginia found the spirits of four black slaves hiding under the
stairs. One was a soldier named “Henry”. Henry told Virginia
that he was a free man but he needed help for the people he was with.
Henry related to Virginia that they were scared, hungry and cold.
Henry was with a female, a male and a child around 8 years of age.
Other
names Virginia picked up while in the Tavern included:
Fisher, Krepp, Gibson, Kurt, Henning, Wilkson - something to do with
a shooting, George as a last name, Fenn, Hawk, Shoemaker, Anna, and
Harry. Virginia felt there were two men named Henry and two named
George on the property. Virginia also picked up a male spirit named
John. John told Virginia that he drowned in the lake. John repeated
the initials “J.J.” to her.
When
Virginia left the Tavern at the end of the night, a male spirit rode
with her but left when Virginia got to the main road. The name of
this spirit was “Lou” and he told Virginia that he was murdered.
Conclusion:
During
the investigation at the Boulder View Tavern on this particular date,
investigators did not have any personal experiences. Investigators
were able to locate several areas of high electromagnetic fields that
may be noticeable to some people at different times. Should those
people have the feeling that they are being watched, get the creeps
in those areas or feel like they are not alone, the EM fields should
be taken into consideration as a possible cause. Eliminating the
field at those times would be a way to test if the sensations were
caused by these fields or something else. If paranormal activity was
in fact present, these fields are also known to magnify activity in
those areas. Investigators were not able to document any physical
activity during this investigation and no alternative explanations
were found for the activity that the clients were reporting. From an
physical standpoint, additional time would need to be spent at this
location to determine if the activity was being caused by a haunting
or other unknown source.
Metaphysically,
Psychic Medium Virginia Centrillo feels that there are spirits
present at this location. According to Virginia, these spirits may
not have originated at this site but were attracted to the energy
that the restaurant provided with all the joyous festivities, food
and drink that would have been reflective of a pub/inn from their
era. Because of the natural energy surrounding the lake, Virginia
feels this may have enhanced the activity in this area.
PPA
Historical Research Director, Kelly Kalb was able to connect several
names that Virginia provided along with information on the Mud Run
train accident of 1888 that Virginia picked up on, the Alder Tree
connection and several large forest fires that shut down the timber
business in this area and forced people out.
With
the help of other PPA members, Virginia began a clearing with
whatever spirits wanted to leave. Virginia felt the three slaves who
were accompanied by the black soldier, “Henry”, went into the
light. Virginia also felt that the girl who was burned who was behind
the lower level bar went into the light as well.
