Investigation Report

Location Status:
Two story, four bedroom private residence with an unfinished basement built in the early 1900’s. The home is occupied by a 28 year old female, a 6 year old son and a 4 year old son.

Reported Activity:
The clients have lived in this home for the past 6 years and the activity been occurring there for the same amount of time, generally at night time and on an almost daily basis. As soon as the client moved in, she started having bad dreams. Every time she leaves the house, the client feels like something is going to grab her and pull her back in. When she returns to the house at night, she feels like something is there waiting for her and watches her. The client has heard footsteps coming down the staircase from the second floor and has felt like she has been touched by someone. The client has witnesses a white glare type of light streak across the kitchen. The client’s children will cry and point to particular areas of the house. Various friends, visiting for the night, have heard on several occasions, repeated footsteps up and down the stairs with no one there. Handles of a bedroom closet were reported to have kept going up and down. The client’s father threw a broom into a corner of the kitchen and the broom was reported to have stood up on end on its own for several minutes. On one particular night, the client woke up in a panic and saw something blue and cloaked but the face was dark and she could not make it out. The client put the light on and it was gone. The client’s kids would report seeing a dark object move in the hallway and reported to her that something had run into their closet on one occasion. The client and her children feel threatened and by having an investigation done, the client hopes to have whatever it is removed so her kids are not frightened and she feels at peace.

EMF (Electro-Magnetic Field):
Standard baseline readings were taken throughout the home with expected spikes near electrical appliances. No anomalous readings were detected.

As the walk-through progressed, Virginia noticed that the male entity was walking between the boy’s bedroom and mom’s room. The owner confirmed that this information coincided with what they’ve experienced.

During the investigation, Virginia was with PPA investigator, Kim on the second floor in the boys’ bedroom and noticed car lights entering the rooms from the back and side bedroom windows. The light was casting shadows throughout the second floor. Virginia felt that, on occasion, the boys saw the male entity while the shadows were being cast by the car lights.

Conclusion:
During the investigation on this particular night, investigators were not able to document any physical activity that the clients were reporting. This was a condensed investigation with focus on metaphysically identifying the cause of the activity and trying to stop it. Investigators did come up with a few realistic alternative causes for some of the activity that was being reported. During time spent in the attic, investigators heard some type of bird or rodent moving about the back of the house. Although no animal could be found during inspection, it was quite notably making noise that caught our investigators attention. While investigators were present on the second floor, they observed a lot of light and shadow play from outside vehicle lights. Although Virginia picked up that the client’s kids had seen a figure in the second floor hallway, Virginia feels that because of that event, the kids are more hypersensitive to movement in the hallway and will have a natural fear of the dark, especially in that area. During a time when vehicle lights make shadows, the children may sometimes perceive that as some type of spirit movement just because of their prior experiences. When looking into the broom that was reported to have stood on end by itself, with very little effort, investigators were able to duplicate the event and make the broom stand on end by itself ruling out a spirit as the cause of holding it up in place.

Metaphysically, Virginia was able to identify much of the activity that the client was reporting. Virginia felt that the activity that was disturbing the client was caused by the spirit of a prior male property owner who stuck around because of his attachment to his home. Virginia felt a second female spirit that she picked up would not have interacted with the clients.

With the help of other PPA members, Virginia was able to release the spirit of Pam and the male entity. Because Virginia feels that the client and her two boys are very open, she gave them a list of books to read so they can educate themselves on psychic phenomena and get information on how to keep the energies up in the house. Virginia suggests that the client install better window treatments in the upstairs bedrooms to eliminate the shadows caused by outside lights. Virginia also recommends that the client install a night light in the boy’s bedroom to give them a feeling of comfort.
